Looking the Gift Horse in the Mouth

Have you heard about the 400 NFL fans that were left without seats at the Superbowl this year?

According to LIV2JAM who commented on the CNN story here:

"Very BIG mistake for sure, and Jerry Jones should be held responsible. But worthy of litigation? Are you serious!? Traumatic experience.....really? YOU MISSED A FOOTBALL GAME! Angry...okay, disappointed for sure, but traumatized? Give me a break. In the midst of all that is happening in the US right now, a lawsuit like this is just ludicrous. How about all those Packer and Steeler fans that couldn’t go to the game because they are thousands of miles away fighting a war? They are the ones truly suffering from trauma. Wake up people and get a grip. The NFL has offered 3 times the value in refund and free tickets to the next Superbowl. We have become such colossal wimps it is unbelievable."

To actually think that these guys are contemplating a lawsuit is ridiculous in my mind. As if three times the ticket money refunded in ADDITION to tickets to next years superbowl were not enough. LIV2JAM's admonition that we have become such colossal wimps is a fitting characterization of what has happened to our society. I could see an issue if the NFL refused to acknowledge the mistake, refused to rectify it. They have done so on both accounts including publicly apologizing for the mishap. Poor customer service is no reason to engage the courts...especially when the "manager" is standing there with checkbook in hand and they choose to stare the gift horse right in the mouth.
